Airport Arrivals
If you are flying here, then you will be arriving at the Halifax Stanfield International Airport. The airport is approximately a 30 minute drive into the city. There are several options for getting into the city to your hotel: Airport Shuttle - A shuttle bus runs from the airport into the city approximately once every hour, from 6am to midnight. This service is called the "Airporter". Booking in advance is not required. Pickup is directly in front of the airport, just follow the signs. The cost for this is $18 CDN each way, payable to the driver. The shuttle will drop you right off at your city hotel. Inversely, when you are leaving, the shuttle can take you back to the airport - as your hotel receptionist for details. Taxi - You can hire a car to take you into the city and directly to your hotel. The cost for this is $53 CDN, which is a pre-arranged fee. There is always a steady supply of taxis waiting in front of the airport. Inversely, a taxi can also be hired to take you back to the airport at the end of the competition, just ask your hotel receptionist to call one for you. Rental Car - If you would like to rent a car for your stay, there are seven car agencies based out of the airport for you to chose from. To see them all, click here. Just remember to book a few months in advance, as rental cars are very busy in the summer months.
Accommodations
Note: This event happens to fall on the busiest week of the year for Nova Scotia hotels. We highly recommend that you book well in advance. Not only will you save yourself some stress, but you will also ensure you have many attractive options to choose from.
Group Hotel
We have arranged a favorable group booking rate at the Atlantica Hotel (previoustly Holiday Inn Select) in Halifax. The hotel has set aside almost their entire facility for our event, thereby allowing competitors and families to largely stay together in one central location. Needless to say, we expect it will be a very good time. Details:
- $159 CAD/night (plus 15% tax/fees)

- Fitness facilities, sauna, hot tub, indoor pool

Competitors are free to stay wherever they like, and certainly have a broad array of choices to select from. If you would like to stay in the city of Halifax, you can use your favorite travel website to search the city's diverse options. If you would like to stay a little closer to the venue and/or enjoy a quieter surrounding, you may opt to stay in the beautiful St. Margaret's Bay region. Venue Transportation - Bus Service
The drive from our Halifax group hotel to the sailing venue is approximately 30-40 minutes, depending on traffic and your adherence to the speed limit. Competitors are more than welcome to rent cars if they wish. However, we will be operating a shuttle bus service which will transport competitors from the hotel to the sailing venue and back. This will allow competitors to travel together, save the expense/hassle of renting a car, and also save from any inconvenience or stress associated with driving in an unfamiliar environment.
